Meet Matthew

 

Matthew is an 18-year-old freshman in college at The George Washington University. He was interested in the lifestyle for approximately a year prior to joining the community in May of 2016. He loves to document the food he makes and play around with different recipes. Before becoming vegan, he had an interest in cooking and taking pictures of his food, two hobbies which he has continued in his new lifestyle.

Perfect Acai Bowl!

Here is my homemade acai bowl recipe
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 cup frozen strawberries
- 1 frozen sliced banana
- 1 cup frozen blueberries
- 2 tablespoons acai powder
- 1/2 cup almond milk
- 1 tablespoon almond butter
TOPPINGS:

- Almond slices
- Vegan granola

- Cacao nibs

- Strawberries

- Coconut 

-Place the ingredients in a blender (I use The Ninja).
-Once the blend is at the consistency you like, pour the blend into a bowl.
-Depending on how thick you want the blend to be, add more or less acai powder.
-Once in a bowl, add your toppings.
-Make sure to slice the fruit toppings thinly so they will stay on top.
-Now enjoy your acai bowl!
