Açaí, For You And Me

For those of you who are unaware of the latest trend in health food, açaí bowls are everywhere! Açaí is a berry, and when added to a smoothie in powder form it thickens the mixture. It not only tastes amazing, but looks amazing too as people have become creative in the way they are presented. Although açaí bowls look intimidating to make, I have a quick yet delicious recipe for you!
What you will need:
- 1 cup frozen strawberries - 1 frozen sliced banana - 1 cup frozen blueberries
- 1 cup blackberries - 2 tablespoons açaí powder
*A tip that people don't know is that you can make a regular smoothie and then add the açaí powder in at the end. People think you need a special recipe with almond butter and almond milk.
*The fruit doesn't have to be frozen, but the meal is typically made cold.
*Add more or less açaí powder depending on how thick you want the blend to be.
*You can add or take out whichever fruit you want! This is a really flexible meal!
TOPPINGS:
- Almond slices - Vegan granola
- Cacao nibs
- Strawberries
- Coconut
*Any of these toppings can be switched for others!
How to make it:
-Place the ingredients in a blender (I use the Ninja blender).
-Once the blend is at the consistency you like pour the blend into a bowl.
-Once in a bowl add your toppings.
-Make sure to slice the fruit toppings thinly so they will stay on top.
-Now enjoy your açaí bowl!
