A basic necessity for every New Yorker is pizza. Pizza is everywhere. It is everyone's first guess when they ask what food I miss most since going vegan. So, naturally, I found myself yearning to have just another bite of New York pizza. Although this recipe doesn't beat the taste of New York pizza, it does rank as one of my favorite home made pizza recipes!

What you need:

Dough:

- 1 cup warm water - 2 ½ teaspoons active dry yeast - 3 cups unbleached all-purpose bread flour (I used half white/half whole wheat flour) - 1 teaspoon sea salt - 1 tablespoon olive oil - Optional: I add a tablespoon of pesto into the dough Mix all of the ingredients together and let it rise on your counter for 25-30 mins

Toppings:

- Assortment of chopped vegetables (I most commonly use broccoli, spinach, and sweet peppers)

- Vegan pizza sauce

- Vegan mozzarella cheese

How to make it:

- After preparing the dough and letting it rise, roll it out into your desired shape.

- Place it on pan*

- Cover dough in olive oil and Italian seasonings blend**

- Add sauce and cheese on top of the dough along with your toppings

- Cook in the oven for 25 minutes at 400 degrees Farenheit

*I usually roll my dough into a rectangular shape that way it can fit into my cookie sheet pan, but it's up to you on the shape you would like.

**To make the olive oil and Italian seasonings blend, add Italian seasoning mix into 4 tablespoons of olive oil, along with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes.
